A. Christopher Engle, LUTCF, CFP®, ChFC®, AEP®
Chris began his financial services career in 1994. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin and has since earned a Fellowship in the Life Underwriters Training Council, the Chartered Financial Consultant and Accredited Estate Planner designations from The American College, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant. He serves on the state Board of Directors for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the West Michigan Estate Planning Council, and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce CEO Roundtable.

Chris employs a client-centered, holistic approach to financial planning including strategies to help build assets, help protect assets from risk, and transfer of those assets to the next generation. This planning is integrated with overall life goals. His clients include professionals, retirees, business owners, and their families. Business owners have benefited from Chris' experience in retirement plan design and implementation, key-employee benefit planning, and business succession planning.

Chris lives in Grand Rapids with his wife, Kim and three children.

Brian C. Sandberg, ChFC®, AEP®
Brian joined the financial services industry in 1999 after graduating from Cornerstone University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Marketing. He grew up in Grand Rapids and attended Forest Hills Central High School. Brian has earned his Chartered Financial Consultant and Accredited Estate Planner designations from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA and is certifed as an Accredited Estate Planner. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Economic Club of Grand Rapids, the West Michigan Estate Planning Council, and the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. He is also the chair for the Forest Hills Public Shools Foundation Golf Outing.

Brian works with his personal and business clients in thier overall comprehensive investment planning with the goals of creating and growing assets, protecting and preserving assets and planning for the distribution of those assets during life and death.

Brian resides in Ada with his wife, Chrissy, and children, Ashland, Adeline, and Malachi.

Ryan P. Smith, ChFC®, CASL™, CFP®, AEP®
Ryan began his financial services career in 2000 after earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Spanish from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. Ryan has earned his Chartered Financial Consultant®, Chartered Advisor for Senior Living™, and Accredited Estate Planner designations from the American College, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

Ryan is a past member of the Aquinas College Alumni Board of Directors, past President for the Board of Directors of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors - Grand Rapids Chapter, Membership Chair of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors - Michigan Chapter, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Grand Rapids Lions Club. He is a member of the Economic Club of Grand Rapids, West Michigan Estate Planning Council, Financial Planning Association (FPA), and Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce CEO Roundtable. He has been a recipient of the NAIFA Quality Award by demonstrating a commitment to exceptional professionalism, production, adherence to the NAIFA code of ethics, and service to the association. Ryan was also named one of the 40 Under Forty Business Leaders by the Grand Rapids Business Journal in 2011, 2012, and 2014 which recognizes 40 young business leaders and entrepreneurs based on business acumen, successes, and community involvement.

Ryan works with his clients to help them create a financial plan and then implement strategies to pursue those financial goals. His clients include professionals, young families, retirees, business owners and their families. He also works with business owners in recruiting and retaining employees with retirement plan design, key employee benefits, and succession planning.

Ryan lives in Rockford with his wife, Dawn, and his children, Abigail, Claire, Landon, and Carter. He is the director of the Youth Academy for the Soccer Club of Rockford and an active youth soccer coach with various clubs throughout the Grand Rapids area. He also volunteers his time teaching classes at the Inner City Christian Foundation.

Peter M. Smith
Pete joined Argus in 2007 following a 34 year career with 3M Company, a multinational conglomerate. His career experience includes business management, sales leadership, and international business development. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Seton Hall University and has completed executive management course work in Finance at Columbia University and in Marketing at the University of Minnesota.

He is a Eucharistic Adoration Committee Member and lector at St. Joseph's Parish in South Lyon, Michigan. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He has been a Menttium Mentor, a WAA Youth Baseball Commissioner, and a St. Thomas Academy Father's Club Director. Over the years he has coached over 60 youth athletic teams in soccer, hockey, and baseball. His hobbies include bird feeding, reading, golf, bicycling, and walking.

Pete works with his clients to help them work towards their financial goals through strategies that fit their lifestyle, means, and objectives.

Pete currently resides in South Lyon, Michigan with his wife of 42 years, Lynn. They have two adult married sons, Justin (Kate) and Ryan (Dawn) and seven wonderful grandchildren, Abbie, Claire, Landon, Julian, Liam, Carter, and Sawyer.

Geoffrey C. Sadek, CFP®
Geoff Sadek brings experience from a national insurance company, bank and wirehouse before finding a home at Argus. Unlike his previous institutions, Geoff was drawn to the value-driven, client-centered philosophy of his partners at Argus.

Active in the in the West Michigan rowing community, Geoff spent three seasons coaching the men’s freshmen rowing team at Grand Valley. He currently is the Head Coach for the Forest Hills Central rowing team, where he coaches with his wife, Nichole.

Geoff’s approach to advising is that of a coach. Beginning with the end in mind, he helps clients translate their personal values into financial goals, then develops a systematic plan to help pursue them.

Outside of work, Geoff loves to explore West Michigan, in particular his hometown of Grand Rapids. He can be found attending Grand Valley events, and building relationships in the community. He and his wife reside in Kentwood.

Lisa M. May, Client Services Manager
Lisa joined Argus in May of 2013. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Aquinas College with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Accounting in 2008. She focuses her efforts on Client Services and Administrative support. Lisa and her husband Brad live in Grand Rapids with their son Connor.

Crystal joined Argus in May 2016. She is a graduate of Colorado Christian University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. After living in Denver for 8 years, she is excited about being back in her home state and exploring West Michigan with her husband Christian.
